This is the fuel rail pressure sensor - threads into the high pressure common rail on Cummins ISX engines and reports rail pressure back to the ECM in real time. Engine won't fuel correctly without it, and a failing one usually sets a low or erratic rail pressure code, hard starts, or a derate.
It shows up across a wide range of ISX applications - Dodge trucks running the Cummins diesel, plus International trucks in the CM-series lineup from 2001 up through current builds. Cummins used this sensor across a lot of chassis because the rail system architecture didn't change much year to year.
