Truck Fairings, Extensions & Chassis Panels

Fairings are the aerodynamic panels that close the gaps between cab, sleeper and chassis — and they are the first thing a curb, a tyre blowout or a low trailer takes out. Most of what is here is Volvo VNL 2018+: front, centre and rear fairing extensions, chassis panels in 45, 63 and 71 inch, and the fairing steps. There is also a Kenworth T680 lower sleeper extender and a Thermo King Precedent reefer top cap.

Order by position and side, not by picture

Fairing parts are handed and they are position-specific, and the photographs look nearly identical. A Volvo VNL front fairing extension is 82768267 on the left and 82768268 on the right; the centre extensions are 84722023 and 84722024; the rear are 84200943 and 84200944. Read the number off the old panel or off the parts list — a left panel will not bolt to the right side.

The chassis panels are sized as well as handed: 45 inch rear, 63 inch and 71 inch middle. The length follows the wheelbase, so measure the panel you are replacing rather than assuming from the model year.

A cracked fairing is a fuel bill

Fairings are not trim. They exist to keep air out of the gap between the tractor and the trailer and off the chassis rails, and a missing or flapping panel puts that drag straight back. A truck running with a rear fairing gone is paying for it every mile, which is why these are worth replacing rather than leaving off until the next inspection.
