Cummins ISX15 / X15 Parts

The ISX15/X15 is the workhorse under Cascadias, T680s, W900s, 579s, ProStars and Western Stars running the highway - and it eats gaskets, hoses, filters and cooling parts like any 15-liter that racks up miles. We stock aftermarket direct-replacement parts for this engine, cross-referenced to the Cummins numbers you're already reading off the old part, and most of it ships same-day out of Tacoma.

What Wears Out on the ISX15/X15

This engine runs hot and runs long, so cooling system parts take the first hit - upper radiator hoses, silicone charge-air couplers, water pump gaskets. If you've had a hose blow on the shoulder of I-5, you know the 2.5" upper radiator hose and the 2" silicone stick hose are the ones that go bad from heat cycling long before anything mechanical fails.

Gaskets are the other half of the job - turbo outlet gasket, valve cover gasket, air compressor gasket, water pump gasket. None of these are expensive parts on their own, but they're all-day labor jobs if you're already in there, so guys buy them in sets or keep a couple on the shelf.

Air filters get overlooked until the truck starts derating on you. We carry Engine Air Filters for the Kenworth/Peterbilt applications running this engine - cheap insurance against turbo and injector wear you don't want to pay for twice.

Ordering the Right Part - Don't Guess

The fastest way to get this right is the number stamped or printed on the part you're pulling off - a 3102314 turbo outlet gasket or a 4026507 valve cover gasket tells us exactly what we're cross-referencing to. If the old part's numbers are gone, give us the VIN or the engine serial number off the ECM tag and we'll pull it that way.

Watch the details that trip people up: charge-air and coolant hoses need to match both ID and length, not just diameter - a 2" hose that's a foot short does nothing for you. Water pumps on this engine show up in more than one configuration depending on model year, so don't assume last year's pump number still applies. Sensor threads and belt rib counts are the same story - close isn't close enough on a 15-liter.

When in doubt, bring the old part to the counter or snap a photo of the casting numbers. We'd rather spend two extra minutes confirming than have you back here next week with the wrong part in a box.

Why Buy It Here Instead of the Dealer

Dealer parts counters mark up Cummins gaskets and hoses hard, and half the time you're waiting on a part that's sitting three states away. Our aftermarket direct-replacement parts cross-reference to the same numbers, cost less, and for most of what we stock, they're on the shelf in Tacoma right now.

Everything we sell carries a 6+ month warranty, so if something's defective out of the box you're not stuck arguing with anybody - bring it back.

We're not a call center reading a screen back at you. Ask a real question about your ISX15 and you'll get a real answer from somebody who's handled these parts before, not a script.

Frequently asked questions

Will this water pump gasket fit my Kenworth T680 with the ISX15?

Likely yes, but confirm with the number off your old gasket or your VIN before you order - this engine's had a few running changes over the years and we want to match yours exactly, not just the engine family.

Is the aftermarket part as good as what the dealer sells?

Honestly, it depends on the part, but for gaskets, hoses, filters and sensors like what we stock, the aftermarket versions do the job at a lower price point. We're not selling you genuine Cummins-branded parts - we're selling direct-replacement parts that cross-reference to the same fitment, backed by a 6+ month warranty.

How do I know if I need the variable-speed or fixed water pump?

Check the casting number on your current pump or give us the engine serial number - the ISX15 ran both configurations depending on model year and application, and guessing wrong means a return trip.

Do you have air filters for a Peterbilt 389 with this engine?

Yes, we stock Engine Air Filters that fit the Peterbilt/Kenworth applications running the ISX15/X15 - confirm the housing size against your old filter or give us the VIN and we'll match it.

Not sure which one your engine takes?

Run your VIN and we’ll match parts to your exact truck and engine serial, or call the counter — a person who knows these engines verifies fitment by the number on your old unit before the order ships. No wrong-box returns.
