What This Mirror Does
The hood mirror mounts on the left fender, forward of the door, and covers the sight lines the main west-coast mirror misses. Because it sits ahead of the A-pillar, the driver reads it without leaning or losing the road. That is the whole reason fleets keep them on spec. Lose the mirror and the truck is still driveable, but the blind quarter comes back and so do the curb strikes and trailer scuffs.
