What This Pump Is
This is the bare water pump unit, not an overhaul kit. Cast iron housing, vented impeller, supplied with the basic mounting gasket and O-ring. It bolts to the front of the block and pushes coolant through the block, head and radiator on N14, NTA14 and NT855 Celect and Celect Plus engines.
The vented impeller design moves high coolant volume, which is what these engines need under sustained load. Sealing surfaces are machined so the gasket and O-ring seat without a fight. If your old pump left a scored or pitted mating face on the block, clean it up before the new unit goes on.
Common applications are Class-8 trucks running the N14 family — Kenworth W900 and T800, Volvo VNL among them. Engine serial number is what decides this, not the truck badge. Cummins ran several pump configurations across the 855 family, so confirm before you order.

Failure Signs And Install Checks
Coolant tracking from the weep hole is the classic tell — the seal has let go and the bearing is next. Overheating under load with a clean radiator and good thermostat points the same direction.
Before install, flush the system. Scale and old stop-leak chew up a new seal fast. Scrape the block face clean, check the mating surface for pitting, and use the supplied gasket and O-ring dry unless your service data says otherwise. Torque the fasteners evenly and in sequence — uneven clamp load cracks cast iron housings.
