What This Panel Is
This is the fiberglass outer door skin on the roadside (driver side) of the Precedent unit, lower position. It's the panel you swing open to reach the compressor side of the unit. It carries no structural load for the reefer itself, but it seals the compartment against road spray, salt and grit, and it's what keeps the airflow path where the engineers put it.
Being fiberglass, it doesn't rot like steel, but it does fail. Gelcoat crazes, the corners around the hinge and latch bosses fatigue and star-crack, and a hard hit at the dock will delaminate the laminate rather than dent it. Once the panel cracks through, water tracks into the compartment and the door stops sitting flat against the frame.

Check Before You Order
Confirm side first. Roadside is the driver side of the trailer. Curbside panels look similar in a photo and will not interchange — the hinge side and the latch side are mirrored. Stand at the front of the unit facing rearward and verify which door you're holding before you place the order.
Then confirm upper versus lower. The Precedent door assembly is split, and the lower outer panel is the one that covers the compressor area. Pull the old panel and read the number molded or labeled on the back face. If it's unreadable, match the hole pattern and overall dimensions against the panel you're replacing.
Inspect the hinges and latch hardware while the door is off. A panel that cracked at the corners usually cracked because a hinge was loose or a latch was out of adjustment and the door was slamming against the frame. Replace worn hardware or the new panel will fail the same way.
