What This Hose Is and Where It Goes
This is a 2.5" ID silicone coolant hose, 8.875" long, with five molded convolutions (the 'rings') that let it flex and absorb vibration without kinking. That ring design shows up a lot on Peterbilt 389/567/579 and Kenworth T680/T880 applications between the radiator and engine or on charge air / coolant crossover routing, depending on the truck.
F50-6308 and F506308 are the same number written two ways - Peterbilt's system drops the dash sometimes depending on where it's printed on the parts list or invoice. 28359 is Gates' number for what is functionally the same hose. None of that means every 2.5" silicone hose with rings in it is interchangeable - length, ring spacing, and ID all have to match or it won't seat right on the necks.
Silicone construction is the point here. These hoses run in a hot spot near the engine or turbo, and rubber hoses in that location harden and crack a lot faster than silicone does. That's why the factory spec'd silicone instead of standard EPDM.
Reading the Cross-Reference - What to Check Before You Order
Gates 28359, Continental 57140, and Dayco 70051 all cross to this same hose profile - same ID, same length, same ring count. These are different manufacturers making the same design because Peterbilt and Kenworth used the same hose engineering across multiple truck lines for years. That's normal in this industry and isn't anything to be suspicious about.
Where guys get burned is length and ring count. There are similar-looking 5-ring hoses out there that are 6 inches or 10 inches instead of 8.875", or 4-ring instead of 5-ring, made for a different chassis or engine spacing. Installing the wrong length means you're either stretching silicone tight enough to stress-crack it early or you've got slack that rubs on something.
Surest way to confirm: pull the old hose and measure ID and overall length yourself, or read the number off it if it's still legible. If you've got the truck's VIN, that'll narrow down which coolant hose kit applies too, since Pete and Kenworth both used several different radiator/engine combos across model years.

Frequently asked questions
Does F506308 fit my 2016 Kenworth T680?
Likely, but T680s ran a couple different cooling setups depending on engine and year. Give us the VIN or measure your old hose (2.5" ID, 8.875" length, 5 rings) and we'll confirm before you order.
Is this the same as Gates 28359?
Yes, Gates 28359 cross-references to this same hose - same ID, length, and ring pattern. Different label, same design.
Can I use this hose somewhere other than Pete/Kenworth if the size matches?
If the ID, length, and ring spacing match your old hose, it'll generally work regardless of chassis badge. Just confirm those three measurements against what you're pulling off - don't go by truck model alone.
