What FD003 Actually Is
FD003 is a kit: the formed steel hanger arm plus the flap, sold as one unit. The arm is heavy-gauge steel with a spring-loaded pivot, so a flap that catches a curb or a dock face swings back instead of folding the arm. Finish is black — powder coat or zinc plating depending on production run — to hold up in salt and brine.
The 45-degree angle is the point of the design. It kicks spray down and outward instead of straight back into the cab, the frame rails, and whatever is running behind you. Bolt spacing is 2-1/2" on center, which is the common pattern across a wide range of tractor and trailer mounting brackets. Direct bolt-on to existing frame holes, no welding, fully reversible.
