What is the difference between long stroke and short stroke air brake chambers?
Long stroke gives the pushrod more travel before the brake goes out of adjustment, and is what most modern highway trucks run on the drive axle. Short (standard) stroke is the older spec with less travel. They look nearly identical but have different adjustment limits — always match the stroke stamped on the chamber you're replacing.
