Assembly, glass, or cover: buy the right layer
If only the glass is cracked and the head is solid, glass alone is the cheap honest fix. If the head rattles, the motor's dead, or the heater quit — the assembly makes more sense than chasing internals one part at a time. A cracked arm or loose mount means assembly-with-arm: a new head on a shaking arm is as useless as the broken one. Covers and trim are sold separately on many models — the cheap way to freshen a truck for resale.
Mirrors are side-specific: left (driver) and right (curb) don't interchange. Every listing states its side; check twice, because the freight back-and-forth costs more than the mirror.
Heated and powered: match the wiring you have
Heated glass isn't a luxury in the Northwest — an unheated mirror in freezing rain is a blind spot doing 60. Power adjustment matters on slip-seat trucks where three drivers a week set mirrors. The catch is the door harness: match the pin count and connector on the listing against what's in your door before ordering. Most trucks of the last two decades carry the wiring even on base trims; your VIN through our fitment check confirms it in a minute.
Set them like a professional
After the swap: sit in the seat, doors closed. West-coast flats should show a sliver of trailer edge and the lane beside it, not the sky. Convex spotters cover the blind zone from the door back — set them so a car disappearing from the flat appears in the spot. Torque the arm mounts to spec and use thread-locker where the maker calls for it; a mirror that vibrates loose was installed, not fixed.

Frequently asked questions
How do I tell left from right when ordering?
Sides are named from the driver's seat — left is the driver's door, right is the curb side. It's stated on every listing. Replacing both? Check the pair option; matched sets usually price better.
Will a heated mirror work on my truck?
If the door harness has the heater circuit — most do, even base trims. Compare the connector on the listing to your plug, or send the VIN and we'll verify. Worst case the mirror bolts on and the heat wire waits for a relay.
Just the glass is broken — can I buy only glass?
On most applications yes, and it's the cheapest fix if the head and motors are healthy. If the glass broke because the head is loose and slapping, fix the cause — glass in a rattling head breaks again.
Why does my new mirror vibrate?
Loose arm-to-cab fasteners, a worn mounting gasket, or a bracket crack hiding under paint. Torque the mounts first; if it still shivers at highway speed, inspect the arm — vibration is almost never the mirror head itself.
Not sure it fits? We check before you pay.
