What You're Getting
This is a driver-side (LH) S-cam for trailer axles, not tractor. It's the shaft that rotates when the slack adjuster moves, spreading the shoes against the drum. Length is 28.19" tip to tip, 10-spline on the yoke end to mate with your slack adjuster.
Meritor spec means this is built to the same dimensions as the Meritor R607316 camshaft used across a pile of trailer axle applications — Fruehauf, Hendrickson, and other trailer builders that ran Meritor brake hardware back in the day.
LH matters here — camshafts are handed because of the cam profile direction. Put a right-hand cam on the left side and the brake either won't self-adjust right or will drag. Don't guess on this one.
Reading the Cross-Reference Numbers
The Fortpro 41538, Torque Parts 17-639, and Newstar 2210-B-7620 numbers all cross to the same Meritor R607316 spec — same length, same spline count, same handing. These are aftermarket manufacturers building to that dimension, not Meritor parts themselves.
Where guys get burned on S-cams is length and spline count. A 28.19" cam next to a 28.5" cam looks close enough to bolt up wrong, and once it's in there wearing a bushing you've got a comeback. 10-spline vs 28-spline yokes don't interchange at all — check your old cam or the tag on the slack adjuster before you order.
Also worth checking: cam head style (some are flanged, some plain), and whether your brake chamber bracket and rollers are in decent shape, because a new cam riding in a worn bushing bore will wear out just as fast as the one you pulled.

Depends on the axle and brake spec, not just the trailer make. Pull the old camshaft and check the length (should be 28.19"), spline count (10), and confirm it's the left-hand side. Is this the same as the Meritor R607316?
It's built to that spec — same length, spline, and handing — but it's an aftermarket camshaft, not a Meritor-branded part. Functionally it's a direct replacement for the R607316 application, but we're not selling it as Meritor OEM.
How do I know if I need the LH or RH camshaft?
Stand at the rear of the trailer facing forward — driver's side is LH, passenger side is RH. Camshafts are handed because of the cam lobe direction, so don't swap sides. If you're not sure, check the old part number or send us a picture.
