What This Air Spring Does
This is a reversible rolling-lobe sleeve air spring mounted at the cab or sleeper, not on the chassis axle. It carries the corner of the cab and isolates the driver from frame inputs. Design height is 14.10 inches extended, 4.01 inches compressed. Lightweight construction, no heavy bellows piston — it rolls on its own sleeve.
Failure is usually obvious. The cab drops on one corner overnight, or you hear air hissing behind the cab step with the parking brake set. Rolling-lobe bags fail at the crease where the sleeve folds over the piston, so cracks show up on the flex line first. Road salt and chafing against a misaligned mount accelerate it.
Less obvious failures: a bag that holds air but has gone hard from age, giving a harsh ride and beating up cab mount bushings. Compare left to right ride height with the suspension aired up. A difference of more than an inch side to side points at either the bag or the height control valve linkage.

Before You Order
Pull the old bag and read it. Cab air springs in this size range look alike but differ in stud spacing, air port thread and port location. Note whether the air fitting enters the top plate or the side, and count the mounting studs. Photograph the old part on the bench before it goes in the scrap bin.
Check what killed the first one. If the bag rubbed through, find the bracket or harness it was contacting. If it went flat with no visible damage, test the height control valve and the air line before you fit a new spring. Replacing bags in pairs keeps cab ride height even and saves a second trip under the truck.
