This is the female receptacle side of the 7-way connection — mounts to the cab or frame crossmember and takes the trailer's 7-way plug. Standard SAE J560 pin pattern, so it's talking the same electrical language whether you've got a Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, or a beat-up flatbed trailer behind a farm truck.
Universal fit covers 1990 through current trucks because this connector spec hasn't changed much — it's the mounting bracket and wire gauge that differ, not the pin layout. Comes with the standard 7-pin count for running lights, brake lights, turn signals, backup lights, and the auxiliary/battery charge circuit.

The 15-720 reference you'll see floating around parts catalogs is another cross for this same connector family — again, spec-based, not brand-specific. Where these can differ is mounting bracket style (some bolt straight to frame, some need a bracket kit) and wire lead length coming off the back.
Before you order, pull the old socket and check the mounting pattern — some are bolt-on with two holes, some use a different bracket. If you're not sure, snap a photo of the back of the connector and the bolt pattern, or just read us the number off the old part and we'll match it up.

Possibly, but check your pins first. A bad pin 6 or 7 connection (auxiliary/ABS circuit) will do exactly that even if lights work fine. Pull the connector, look for corrosion or a bent pin before you replace the whole socket.
